SERVICE LEARNING / VOLUNTEERING
Advisor: Denise Satterfield
Description: The Service Learning Committee helps facilitate Service Learning opportunities in classrooms by helping teachers in any way that they need. We also encourage volunteerism by making individual opportunities known when they become available as well as posting and updating ongoing community volunteer opportunities. We track all individual and class volunteer hours through a google form.

instructions for submitting volunteer hours
Volunteer hours can be logged in using our Volunteer Submission Form. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/4hbeQonyxC9E55yv5
If you have a recurring service with a few hours (for example, you volunteer each week at the public library or at your religious organization), please wait until you have a bulk of hours (this must be less than 50 hours per submission) and submit one form. Please do not submit them as individual forms. The form allows you to enter a date range and you can explain the fact that the service is recurring in your volunteer description.
Each year there is a ceremony for students who have volunteered for more than 100 hours during that school year. Those hours must occur from April 15th of the previous year through April 14th of the current school year. That ceremony is held each April.
This form can be used to submit activities for a total of under 50 hours per form. If you have ONE service for more than 50 hours that you would like to log, please send Mrs. Satterfield an email . Also send an email if you have any problems, issues or concerns with the new system.
