March 19, 2026 - Important Update on the Future Leadership of our District

Dear Members of Our School Community,

I am pleased to share an important update regarding the future leadership of our district. After a comprehensive search process, the School Committee voted unanimously last evening to enter into contract negotiations with Tiffany Ostrander, the current principal of Calvin Coolidge School, in anticipation of her assuming the position of Superintendent of Shrewsbury Public Schools on July 1, 2026.

This decision reflects months of careful consideration, community input, and a commitment to selecting a leader who aligns with our district’s values, vision, and dedication to student success. We are confident that Ms. Ostrander brings the leadership skills, experience, integrity, and passion needed to build on our strengths and guide us forward.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the finalists in this search. Participating in a public search process like this requires a significant commitment. We truly appreciate the thoughtful way each finalist engaged with the members of our community and for their interest in serving our district.  In particular, we want to recognize SHS Principal Todd Bazydlo for his candidacy, as it is especially challenging to go through this process within one’s own district. We appreciate his longtime, strong leadership of our high school. 

We understand that leadership transitions are significant moments for any community. As we welcome Ms. Ostrander as our new superintendent, we also want to express our deep gratitude to everyone who participated in the search process—students, families, educators, staff, and community members. Your voices played a vital role in shaping this decision.

Together, we are well-positioned to strengthen our shared commitment to ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education and the opportunity to succeed.
