Oak FRENCH CLASS NEWSLETTER

Juin

All of our French students continue to work hard even though it is the very last month of school and summer vacation is but days away.

In Grade 8

Our French Students are studying Chapter 10, Dans un magasin de vêtements. Students will be given a project - the opportunity to have a limitless credit card to shop for five occasions. They will create a Keynote and add colors and prices to all items that they have selected to purchase. Students will present this to the class.

We successfully completed our online Art Museums as the “Grande Finale” to our PBL: "The earth without art is just eh".  The links to all six museums can be found on the Oak website.

The Grade 8 Cultural Field Trip to NYC was very successful. Those who participated enjoyed a beautiful culture filled day in New York City. We started with a scavenger hunt for French paintings at the Met Museum of Art, then, enjoyed a French lunch at the Rivage restaurant, and ended by attending a magnificent performance of The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. We wish to thank all of our chaperones for donating their time so that we could offer this trip to our students this year.

In Grade 7

In Grade 7 Our French students will be finishing their study of Chapitre 5, Au café. Students will be using restaurant vocabulary that includes making food selections from a menu, offering advice and opinions about food, making plans for weekend activities, asking for and paying the bill, and finally tipping the waiter in classroom skit presentations. They will be encouraged to use as much of this year’s vocabulary in their presentations. Students will learn about several famous Paris cafés and explore their menus.

Bonnes Vacances d’été!

Respectfully,
