Oak Nurses' Information Regarding Athletics
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Please be aware that we will not be sending any medications from the nurses’ office to any sports practices or meets/games. Under the district’s medication policy, students at the secondary level are permitted to carry emergency medications provided we have a signed doctor’s order on file. If your child requires an Epi-pen or an inhaler, they should bring an extra to school and carry it with them each day during the length of the sport. Your child should be trained in the self-administration of their medication.
Please also be aware that there are no trained medical personnel available at practices or meets/games.
Feel free to call us at (508) 841-1204 or email us at oaknurse@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Lisa Arteca, MSN, RN
Loreen Yearick, MSN, RN
