AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES PROGRAM (ASAP)
Seats are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment is due at the time of registration, and unpaid registrations will be automatically deleted. Classes cost $40 for the six-week session. Class fees are non-refundable unless SPS has to cancel the class.

Description: The “official” Hour of Code took place during Computer Science Education week in early December. BUT who says that we have to limit it to one hour? This class will allow you to explore some websites, online courses, and apps that will allow you to independently learn to code! Please note, this class will be based on students teaching themselves (and classmates!) how to complete some coding tasks accessible on the iPad in a quiet, collaborative environment! Headphones or earbuds, although not required, are helpful for using some of the tools and apps in the course. (Please note that this is the same course that was run in the Fall; students are welcome to take the course again, but there will not be new content.)

Description: The gym will open for student-initiated activities such as basketball, kick-ball, dodgeball, etc. This is a structured, supervised, free-play session rather than instructional PE. Only students registered for this class will be able to participate.

Description: Quilling is the art of rolling narrow strips of paper to create beautiful decorative designs. Colorful paper will be rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create different shapes, and glued together to create
greeting cards, pictures, and more.

Description: Learn the basics of this traditional art form, and how to create your very own amazing henna art masterpiece.
A new way to explore your creativity with beautiful motifs, flowers & designs! This is a beginner level class, where students will learn the basics of how to make their very own henna cones, paste and designs; with step-by-step methods and artistic techniques, fine details- effects, and tips.

Description: Interested in creative storytelling, group problem solving, light math skills, and social activity? Join the Dungeons and Dragons Club at Sherwood Middle School! Students will learn all about the popular role-playing game including how to play, how to create their own games, and how to work with friends to create an epic adventure. No materials are needed: just imagination. Open to students with and without any previous role-playing game experience. Come see how this exciting game is still growing in popularity after almost 50 years!

Description: Learn basic volleyball skills from the SHS varsity volleyball coach.
Class: Ceramics - class is full

Room: 344
Description: Students will learn the basics of working with clay. Techniques include, pinch pots, slabs, coils, slipping and scoring, and glazing. Projects will include creating a texture plate, pinch pot, and vessel. All work will be painted with food safe glaze.
Additonal Information:
- Students will remain in their homerooms from 2:35 until their class is called at 3:00.
- Students must be picked up from Sherwood promptly at 4:00PM.
- Parents can sign up their child in advance to take the late bus on our website
- Students who attend extended day should check in to ESC first, go to class at 3:00, and can return to ESC at 4:00
Registration Instructions:
- Log into the Parent Portal.
- From the navigation menu on the left, select “Sports and Activities”
- Choose the class you wish to take by clicking “Assign Fee”
- From the navigation menu, select “Payment Center” and you will be redirected to School Pay
- Your spot is not reserved until you have completed your payment. Unpaid registrations will be automatically deleted.
