Dear Students and Parents,
The SAT has gone digital! The SAT is now only offered in a digital format. Shrewsbury High School is offering a SAT Prep class that will focus on the new digital test. This exam requires students to refine their skills in mathematics, critical reading, comprehension and writing.
The Shrewsbury High School Fall SAT Prep Course will be offered from Monday, October 21st through Monday, December 9th. See the attached schedule for complete dates and times. Classes will meet remotely by Zoom for a total of seven Monday night sessions. Students will complete synchronous and asynchronous activities throughout the course. Small classes allow for a great deal of individual attention. Students also take two full-length in person SAT exams, which provide reinforcement for skills taught during the course and test taking experience. Enrollment is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis; the course is open to juniors and seniors.
Our program is very special because of the quality of the instruction. Teachers provide training that addresses skills as well as strategies useful for success on the SAT. If a student makes a commitment to practice by doing the required homework, attending all seven classes, and taking the practice exams, his/her scores should increase significantly.
Please Note: Students who enroll in the course will follow the same code of conduct as is expected during the school day. Students are expected to be respectful of their peers and teachers throughout the duration of the program.
Please send completed applications and checks made payable to “SHS SAT Prep Course” to: Shrewsbury High School, Attn: Jen Lundsten, 75 Cypress Avenue, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 by Friday, October 11th. Questions can be directed to my assistant, Jen Lundsten, at jalundsten@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us or 508-841-8810. This class will only run if there is sufficient demand.
Sincerely,
Maureen Monopoli
SAT Prep Course Coordinator
