After School Activities Program (ASAP) - Fall 2022

The Coolidge After School Activities Program (ASAP) offers hour-long classes that run once a week, after school, for 6 weeks.

REGISTER NOW THROUGH THE PARENT PORTAL. Payment must be made at the time of registration.  Unpaid registrations will be deleted.

All classes run simultaneously, so you may only choose one of the following classes.  Please note the specific grade level for each class.


Class: Ballroom Dance 
Grades: 1, 2, 3 & 4
Instructor: Ms. Williams
Schedule: Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30

Description: Ballroom dance is the name for a number of dances done in ballrooms. Students will be introduced to the basics of ballroom dancing styles such as waltz, cha cha, and swing! Dance is fun, it promotes a healthy and active lifestyle, boosts social interactions, builds self-esteem, confidence, discipline, and more. The benefits of ballroom dancing for kids are countless!

Grades: K-4

Description: Do you love to learn about animals and farms? If so, this is that class for you!  Come on Down to "Mrs. Vaillancourt's Farm"  where we will:

  • Make crafts from materials found on the farm.
  • See the difference between an egg from the grocery store and one that is fresh from the farm .
  • Learn just how much work goes into farmers getting food to your table
  • Make a snack with farm fresh vegetables.
  • Grow some sunflowers, lettuce, and bean sprouts to take home.

Description: “Every Lego project is a pathway into engineering,” says MIT researchers. This experience will kick up your Lego creativity, collaboration skills, and problem solving strategies. Design your own creations, have fun with your peers, and design and build to your heart’s content. Other various Lego related activities will be available too!

Instructosr: Ms. Mertzanis and Ms. Decatur
Schedule: Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30
Class size: 16

Description: The Crazy 8s Math Club is coming to Coolidge! Have fun and learn math while making geometric shapes with glowsticks, using clues to find hidden treasure, tossing bouncy rubber dice, playing a giant game of floor darts, and more!

Registration Instructions:

  • Log into the Parent Portal
  • From the navigation menu, select “Sports and Activities”
  • Choose the class you wish to take by clicking “Assign Fee”
  • From the navigation menu, select “Payment Center” and you will be redirected to School Pay
  • Your spot is not reserved until you have completed your payment.

Additional Information

  • Students are supervised from 3:15-3:30 in the media center.  Class begins at 3:30.
  • There is no transportation provided for this class.  Parents must pick up their child in the Coolidge lobby promptly at 4:30
  • Students who are enrolled in extended day will be brought to the cafeteria after class and you may pick them up from ESC as you normally would
  • Class fees are non-refundable.  Credit will not be given if your child misses a class.  If a class is cancelled (for inclement weather or teacher illness) we will make every effort to offer a make-up class on a different date
