Private iPad Insurance
We will continue providing district-owned iPads to all students in grades K-12 for the 2022-2023 school year. Families will be responsible for any theft, loss, or damage that occurs to the devices regardless of whether it occurs at or outside of school. We strongly recommend that you insure your child’s iPad. We have seen many instances of breakage. Without insurance, replacement and/or repairs become expensive. We have set up a streamlined enrollment and repair process with private insurance company Worth Ave. Group. This is an established company that have been willing to work with the District regarding the repair process. If you elect to use another insurer, please be sure that the insurer will provide funds to reimburse the district for repair or replacement and not direct device repair or replacement. Devices not purchased directly by the district cannot be used in the program due to the need to "supervise" the devices for management.
Please note that the protective cases are not covered by the insurance plans.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, however, if your child’s iPad breaks, you will be required to reimburse the District for repair costs. The District uses Apple's direct repair/replacement services. The most common cost for a typical glass breakage is $236.55. If the iPad requires replacement, you must reimburse the District for the replacement cost rather than purchase the replacement directly, as family-purchased iPads cannot be fully managed in our system. If you elect to use another insurer, please be sure that the insurer will provide funds to reimburse the district for repair or replacement and not direct device repair or replacement. Devices not purchased directly by the district cannot be used in the program due to the need to immediately "supervise" the devices for management.
