Morning Class:  8:30-11:30 - $80/week
Afternoon Class: 12:00-3:00 - $80/week
Early Drop-Off:  7:00-8:15 - $40/week
Extended Hours:  3:00-6:00 - $80/week

Families who qualify for free and reduced meals may receive a 50% discount on their total registration.  Please use the code APRVAC50 at check-out.  All discounted registrations will be verified with food services upon receipt.

Students who wish to enroll in both AM and PM classes can bring a lunch from home and they will be supervised in the cafeteria from 11:30-12:00.

Registration and payment will be done using our Eleyo Registration Software.  First time users will need to create an account.  View instructions here.  We encourage you to create your account in advance so that you are ready when registration opens.  If you are already registered for extended day, or if you participated in February vacation or Summer 2022 programming, you already have an account. Please note, the classes will not be visible in Eleyo until the day registration opens.

Class: Adventures with Books
Grades: K, 1, 2

Description: We’re all about books! Reading books, listening to books and even write and illustrate your own books! Bring your favorite books from home to share with us and if you want you can bring in a stuffed animal and blanket to get comfy and cozy while we enjoy listening to your favorite story books. We’ll create a class book that we write together and all of you illustrate! We’ll also be able to watch some of your favorite story books on the big whiteboard too! Bring your imagination and creativity with you to write and illustrate your own books each day. We’ll have lots of fun craft supplies for you to use to create your beautiful books! Come on a book adventure with us! This class will feature new stories and activities, so students who participated in February are welcome to take the class again. Please note, the AM and PM session of this class are identical, so please only register for one session.

Class: Art from Inspiration
Grades: 1, 2, 3

Description: Art inspiration comes from many places – nature, stories, music, other artists. Art is also a form of communication and a way to tell our stories and express our feelings. In this class, students will respond to many different types of inspiration and explore different art materials to create personal works of art. Class: Building and Engineering

Description: This week we will explore various principles of engineering and physical science. We’ll learn the components of basic circuitry using “snap circuit” kits, we’ll learn design principals as we build a variety of structures using “Roominate” toy sets, and we’ll have daily engineering challenges.

Class: Engineering Design Failures
Grades: 4, 5, 6

Instructor: Jill Shah
Description: In this class we will learn the role that failure plays in the engineering design process and how to learn from our failures. Each day we will complete different engineering challenges using the engineering design process. We will focus on design considerations, criteria and the testing/redesign phase and determine if our design was successful or not. If the design was not successful we will discuss improvements needed to make the design a success. One goal of mine is to have students saying, "why didn't I think about that", or "I should have thought about that". We will also learn about failures in history that lead to great accomplishments and some epic engineering failures.

Description: The simple idea that your brain is like a muscle is proven to have profound impact on learning! We will enjoy a range of activities such as creating obstacle courses, memory games, and building activities. Student's will engage in a hands-on approach to understand new STEM concepts and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies to help them in their school and home environments!

Description: Feeling creative? Innovative Games provides students the chance to use their imaginations to create fun, new games to play inside or out. Students will learn a variety of out-of-the-box games to keep them on their toes while demonstrating the fundamentals of physical education. Games will range from tag games, ball games, and playground-style games to play in a small or large group setting. Students will have an opportunity to learn communication skills, teamwork, and leadership skills in a fun, safe environment.

Description: Design. Construct. Create. Let your imagination soar. Children were able to build freely with our large collection of Legos. There will be new daily challenges and new Lego-themed games to play. Come make new friends or catch up with old friends! There will be a Lego movie and popcorn snack on the final day (this will be a different movie than the February break movie). Please note, the AM and PM session of this class are identical, so please only register for one session.

Description: Get your lab coat ready and come join us for mad scientists! This class will be packed full of experiments, sure to get you excited for the fun world of science. Using the scientific method, we will observe, research, make predictions, test our experiments and record our findings. Some of the experiments we will perform include: lava lamps, slime/moon dough, erupting volcanoes, and so much more!

Description: Calling all nature lovers! Let’s connect with nature by creating a variety of nature inspired projects and fun physical activities such as mosaic mud painting, homemade bird feeders, learn how rainbows are formed, nature walks check list, rain dance, garden yoga and much more!

Class: Reading is fun with Pete the cat

Description: We will be reading books from the “Pete the Cat” series and doing various activities relating to the stories, such as creating treasure maps, building tiny treehouses, making butterfly wings and more! We will also be be using nut free toppings to decorate cupcakes one day. This is a great way to make reading fun and bring books to life!

Description:  Fun and fitness in the gym. Join your friends for a super fun experience. Activities such as Pickleball, Blob Tag, Four Square, Dodgeball, Basketball, Knock Out, Foam Ball games, Frogs Across the Pond, an obstacle course and more will be offered. Learn techniques for warm ups, cool downs, rules and skills of the games. Please note, the AM and PM session of this class are identical, so please only register for one session.

Class: Making Wooden Signs

Description: Have you ever wanted to make your own signs?! This is your chance! This class will include wood and all the materials to make a professional looking sign!  We will begin the class making a “look what I made” long sign (with the option to customize name). Students will learn the ins and outs of sign making starting with hand sanding their piece of wood, to staining, and customizing using a cricut machine. It will include twine and clothespins so that all artwork can be put on display! We will also have a few smaller projects to work on in between drying times, including a Mother’s Day craft and bookmarks!

Description: Turn your favorite video games into real-life activities. Each day we will play a favorite video game, and then bring it to life with gym games, crafts, engineering challenges and more. Play Mario Kart with your friends, then create and race your own Karts, play a real-life version of “Among Us” and much more!

Class: Creativity through painting!

Description: In this class students will be given a general prompt and encouraged to use their own creativity to make something beautiful. While following some goals to include in each painting they will be given every chance to create their own vision of the prompt!

Description: Do you have dreams of being a world-famous author and hitting the best sellers list? Do you have dreams of creating your own comic book series? In this class we will work to write and illustrate our own children's book as well as work on creating our own portfolio of short stories and create our own comic books. Bring those big dreams, your imagination and your school iPad and write with us! Repeat students from February vacation, Future Authors' and Comic Book Club welcome as we will have new themes and assignments.

Description: Blast off into spring break with some out-of-this-world fun! As part of our space themed exploration, our astronauts-in-training will embark on an imaginary mission to our galaxy. Once we land on the moon ,we will learn all about the sun, planets, and stars while creating fun projects such as planet wreaths, rocket straws, marshmallow constellations, and participating in physical activities, such as space yoga, asteroid toss and more!

Description: The earth is waking up and spring is finally here! Let's celebrate by digging in the dirt and starting your own garden to welcome back the plants from their long winter nap. We'll make some decorations to welcome the birds and all pollinators alike. And to celebrate Earth Day, we'll explore ways to do our part in making our world a cleaner and more beautiful place for everyone.
