1, 2 The Artist Within Do you love art but aren't sure what type of art you like doing the most?  Drawing is lots of fun, maybe painting is your thing, or working with clay. In this class we'll look at various artists and the materials they use. Then, we'll experiment! We'll start with the world of drawing using, not just pencils but charcoal and pastels. We'll dabble with various types of paint from classroom tempera to acrylic and watercolors, even use unique forms of paint. Explore the variety of clays and molding materials and visit the world of crafting with standard store bought materials, things you find in nature and recyclable materials. 1, 2 The Wonderful World of Eric Carle Geared towards 1st and 2nd Graders, this summer class is the delightful blend of storytelling, art, and hands-on activities inspired by the whimsical creations of Eric Carle. 1, 2 Under the Sea Students will engage in a variety of activities throughout this ocean-themed week. 1, 2, 3 Journey Around the World Pack your suitcase! Come on a fun-filled, hands-on, arts and crafts learning journey to the world's continents. 1, 2, 3 Lego Club Design. Construct. Create. Let your imagination soar. Children will be able to build freely with our large collection of Legos, or follow step-by-step directions with traditional Lego kits. There will be daily building challenges, Lego trivia, and Lego-themed games to play. Come make new friends or catch up with old friends! On the last day there will be a Lego movie and a popcorn snack. 2, 3, 4 Around The World Explorers Visit all seven continents and explore different cultures and countries. Campers will play games, learn about different cultures, and make crafts. We will make our own passports and have them stamped as we race around the world! 2, 3, 4 Exploring Endangered Species ​​Welcome to Endangered Species! In this class, we will be learning all about the amazing animals that are in danger of becoming extinct. We will explore different habitats and discover why some species are facing challenges to their survival. Throughout the class, we will learn about the different categories of endangered species, such as critically endangered, endangered, and vulnerable. We will also discuss the causes of endangerment, such as habitat loss, pollution, and poaching. Through fun activities and games, we will get to know some of the most endangered species, like the giant panda, sea turtle, and black rhinoceros. We will also learn about the important role these animals play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. We will also talk about what we can do to help protect these endangered species and their habitats. Small actions, like recycling and reducing our use of single-use plastics, can make a big difference in saving these animals.

2, 3, 4 The Problem Solving and Design Process Problem Solving and Design is back with all new challenges including making a 3D model of a circular bedroom for a lighthouse! Participants will use problem solving skills by following the process of identifying a problem, brainstorming possible solutions, planning the solution, creating the solution, testing it out and revising it to make it better.  Participants will then present their solutions to the rest of the group.  A new problem will be presented each day and the design process can be documented in a journal for participants to take home with them. 3, 4 Arts & Improvisation on Stage with Performance Participants will take part in improvisation activities and develop the scenes they create. They will dabble in the visual arts to enhance their scenes and cap it all off with a short performance. 3, 4 Build-it Bonanza Let your child’s imagination go wild! Build-it Bonanza offers a wide variety of building materials such as Lincoln Logs, Keva Planks, Knex, Magna tiles and more, for creative designs and construction. We will have daily challenges ranging from build a maze, build the tallest structure, build a marble run, build a log cabin, etc, as well as creative time for individual and team builds.  We will build, snack, run outside and build some more! 3, 4 Totally Team Games This class is for the athlete who loves to play sports and games.  We practice skills, drills and learn rules for multiple sports and games.  Emphasis will be placed on sportsmanship and team play. 3, 4, 5, 6 Mindful Mandala Art Join us for a creative and fun therapeutic art process where participants will be guided into making art creations. Class includes step-by-step instruction for any skill level. Mandala originates from sanskrit language ,meaning  “circle” and is a geometric configuration of symbols. It is a spiritual and ritual symbol believed to represent the universe and cosmos. Creating mandalas can help well-being and reduce anxiety. They will start this journey by drawing with pencil first, then on canvas and end with a mandala rock painting to take home and share their experience with you. 3, 4, 5, 6 String Art String Art is weaving colored string or yarn between hammered nails to make geometric patterns. Students will create designs by connecting points with straight lines and then wrapping the lines with colored thread to form intricate patterns. We will select different designs, transfer them to blocks of wood, hammer the nails, and wrap the string to create beatiful 3D works of art to take home. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Teamwork Makes the Dream Work This team building, adventure and educational program is designed to promote teamwork and to facilitate communication among students by engaging them in various fun-filled team building challenges. Each challenge has specific physical, creative, mental challenges, so every team needs a good mix of individual skills. Laugh, compete and bond like never before as your team immerses themselves in the spirit of fun and camaraderie. Discussions at the end of each activity highlight how the group and individuals have improved and the many ways in which these experiences will carry over into their daily lives. 4, 5, 6 Harry Potter and The Enchanters Welcome to Harry Potter and the Enchanters, a program for kids who want to learn about mental health and have a love for the Harry Potter series written by J.K. Rowling. Throughout the Harry Potter books and movie series, the main character Harry Potter expresses negative emotions and identifies tools along the way to help him manage those feelings. This program will allow children to learn about mental health, identify tools and coping skills to help manage fears and worries, challenge negative thoughts and identify positive thinking, and explore hopes and dreams for the future. The program will also include fun activities such as sorting kids in their own Hogwarts house, creating wands, and participating in team building exercises. 4, 5, 6 Novel Adventures Join us on a journey through some of the most popular stories and unique universes of our time. Each day we will focus on a different story through special crafts, activities and games. 5, 6, 7, 8 Crafting with a Cricut Machine The "Cricut" is a machine that allows you to cut out intricate, customized designs from materials like vinyl and paper.  Students will learn how to use the Cricut software on their iPads, and then use the machine to make them come to life! Once designs are created,  we will create cut-outs on cardstock to be used on posters or cards, print our own vinyl stickers, and design iron-on vinyl pieces that we can attach to an object of their choice! 5, 6, 7, 8 ZooTopia - Design Your Own Zoo Have you ever wondered what it is like to design and take care of a zoo and its animals? This is the project for you! We will be designing the map and enclosures for our zoo animals and looking into what each animal needs for care, food, space, and conservation efforts. 6, 7, 8 Engineering Design Challenge - Middle School  In this class we will explore the different disciplines of the engineering world.  We will do this by using the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and improve prototypes.  Students will learn the basics of forces and energy by working on a new engineering challenge each day.  Topics include space, thermal energy, earthquake proof structures, and more.  All new challenges! 6, 7, 8 Printmaking Mania   Printmaking is an ancient form of art that is just as fun today as it was thousands of years ago. Students will create block prints using both Soft-Kut and linoleum and will also make mono prints with Gelli plates. Students will learn how to carve, ink, and print their ideas using a variety of colors and on various types of papers. 1, 2, 3 Discovering Dinos In this class, young aspiring paleontologists will embark on an exciting journey to learn all about these fascinating creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago.Throughout the class, children will have the opportunity to explore the world of dinosaurs through a variety of interactive, and hands-on activities. They will learn about the different types of dinosaurs, their unique characteristics, and how they lived in their respective environments. Through games, puzzles, and crafts, children will also discover the prehistoric world and its inhabitants. 5, 6, 7 Unified Interactive Story Telling  Students will be provided with the opportunity to showcase their talents and enhance communication skills through the expressive world of theater in a supportive and inclusive setting. We will incorporate: Interactive story telling: Tailored scripts and inclusive roles ensure that each student can actively participate and contribute to the unfolding drama. Students will also collaboratively create inclusive skits to perform. Creative Prop and Costume Play: Explore the world of role-playing using creative props and costumes, fostering self-expression and imaginative play. Puppetry as Expression: Discover the art of puppetry as a means of communication and creativity, offering students a unique way to express themselves.  Inclusive Storytelling Yoga: We will integrate yoga into the program with a storytelling component. 5, 6, 7, 8 3D Sculptures & Objects   Students will expand their mind from 2D to 3D! The program will begin with a brief history of sculpture and then we will roll up our sleeves and get building. Plaster gauze will be used as our primary material but cardboard, wire, paint and other materials will also be available to create works such as Daruma Dolls, Human figures and abstract objects. 5, 6, 7, 8 Crafting with a Cricut Machine The "Cricut" is a machine that allows you to cut out intricate, customized designs from materials like vinyl and paper.  Students will learn how to use the Cricut software on their iPads, and then use the machine to make them come to life! Once designs are created,  we will create cut-outs on cardstock to be used on posters or cards, print our own vinyl stickers, and design iron-on vinyl pieces that we can attach to an object of their choice! 5, 6, 7, 8 Improv and Team Building If you love acting, laughing, and being silly, then this is the class for you! We will learn the basics of improv comedy through sound, movement, and character development. We will spend the week playing hysterical games and creating skits! 5, 6, 7, 8 Threaded Delights: Embroidery for Beginners Calling all students new to embroidery and needlework! Join us for a week of learning all about the art of the embroidery hoop and the ways it can be applied to different projects. We will start with the basics, including needle threading, choosing fabric and thread colors, and learning the 6 basic stitches required for embroidery, and then continue on to your very own design. By the end of the week, you will have a practice hoop and packet to reference with different tips and tricks, and have started your very own project that you can take home with your materials and continue as you see fit!
