Please note that children must be 3 years old by August 31st, 2024 (DOB 9/1/2019-8/31/2021) to enroll in Parker Road Preschool or 3 years old by March 1st, 2024 (DOB 9/1/2019-3/1/2021) to enroll in Little Colonials for the 2024-2025 school year.


Additional Preschool Program Information

  • Shrewsbury Public Schools’ preschool programs (Parker Road Preschool and Little Colonials Preschool) are tuition-based.  For our current tuition rates, please see our website.  Your child’s first tuition payment will be due on Monday, September 2, 2024.
  • Parker Road Preschool does not offer transportation for our tuition students to any of our locations.

There is a $100 preschool registration processing fee.  This fee is due upon completion of your child's Preschool Registration.  Tuition can be paid in full or in monthly installments on the first business day of each month.  Fees and tuition can be paid online or via check at your school.  When you accept a seat in a session for your child, Parent Portal registration information will be sent to you by email.

Morning preschool sessions typically run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Afternoon sessions typically run from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Exact timings of sessions for the 2023-2024 school year have yet to be determined.


Students with special education referrals do not have to submit the preschool application form but will complete the online registration and provide their documents.  When the preschool office receives a special education referral, the family will be notified and instructed to complete the registration process.  Once all of the required documents have been received, Bridget Nichols, Special Education Team Chair, will begin the evaluation process with the family.

The Town of Shrewsbury must be the legal residence of parent/guardian and students in order to attend school in Shrewsbury Public Schools.  If using a P&S agreement, you must be residing in the home within 60 days of the closing date listed on the P&S according to School Committee policy.  Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 76, Section 5 states: "Every person shall have a right to attend the public schools of the town where he/she actually resides, subject to the following section.  No school committee is required to enroll a person who does not actually reside in the town unless said enrollment is authorized by law or by the school committee.  Any person who violates or assists in the violation of this provision may be required to remit full restitution to the town of the improperly-attended public schools.  No person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in admission to a public school of any town, or in obtaining the advantages, privileges and courses of study of such public school on account of race, color, sex, religion, national origin or sexual orientation." (Amended by st. 1971, c.622, c.1; st. 1973, c. 925, s.9A, st. 1993, c.282; st.2004, c.352, s.33)

If warranted, residency checks may be conducted by the School Department or the Shrewsbury Police Department at any time during a child's enrollment in the Shrewsbury Public Schools.
