All students at Shrewsbury High School are expected to read at least one book over the summer.

  • Students enrolled in A-level, B-level, and honors classes will read grade-level common texts and can expect a quiz on the grade-level required reading in the first week of school.
  • Students enrolled in AP English have additional expectations that have been communicated directly from the AP teachers.
  • Students enrolled in Essential English will read alternate texts, listed above, and will be assessed in alternate ways.
  • Any student or parent who has a question about summer reading can contact Liza Trombley, Director of English, via email. Questions about AP summer work should be addressed directly to the AP teachers. Questions about summer reading in Essential English should be directed to those teachers.
