On behalf of the School Committee, I am pleased to share that we are entering the final stage of our search for the next Superintendent of Schools. After a comprehensive screening process, we will be welcoming our finalist candidates to the district in the coming weeks.
As part of this important process, we invite all community members to attend public meet and greet sessions with the candidates. These sessions will provide an opportunity to hear directly from each candidate, learn about their leadership experience and vision for our schools, and share your perspectives.
The meet and greet sessions will be held at the Maj. Howard W. Beal Elementary School in the Media Center on the following dates and times:
Tuesday, February 24th - 5:45-6:45pm, Todd Bazydlo - current Principal of Shrewsbury High School
Thursday, February 26th - 5:00-6:00pm, Reuben Duncan - current Superintendent of SAU 47 Jaffrey and Rindge, NH
Friday, February 27th - 5:00-6:00pm, Tiffany Ostrander - current Principal of Calvin Coolidge Elementary School in Shrewsbury
Monday - March 2nd - 5:00-6:00pm, Dr. David Thomson - current Interim Superintendent of Wilmington Public Schools, Wilmington, MA
The finalists’ resumes are available on the district’s website here.
During each of the these days, the candidates will be visiting various schools and interacting with staff and students throughout the day. The School Committee interviews of the candidates will be happening at 7:00 p.m. each of those evenings.
We encourage families, students, and community members to attend these meet and greet sessions. Your feedback is a vital part of this process. Following each session, attendees will have the opportunity to submit comments to the School Committee to help inform our final decision.
Thank you for your continued support of the Shrewsbury Public Schools and for taking time to engage in this process.
Sincerely,
Erin Boucher, Chair
Shrewsbury School Committee
