Important Message for Families - Advisory on Report from Shrewsbury Police

Dear Shrewsbury Families & Colleagues,

I want to make you aware of information we received today from the Shrewsbury Police Department regarding an investigation they are conducting.

Last evening the police began investigating a report that a female student who took the late bus home from Shrewsbury High School, and who was dropped off at Stoney Hill Road and walked along a path in a wooded area to the Cherry Hill/Cherry Street neighborhood with another student, reported that she was physically grabbed by an unknown older male individual.  The report indicated that the student reacted and the individual released her and ran off.

The Shrewsbury Police are actively investigating this incident and will be increasing their presence at that location.  If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact the Shrewsbury Police Department at 508-841-8577.

I wanted to make you aware of this situation directly, and ask that families remind your children about your rules regarding safety and strangers and to report anything unusual to you or an adult at school immediately.
