Good Evening Shrewsbury Families & Colleagues,

You may have seen in the news that Governor Baker has declared a "state of emergency" in Massachusetts due to the Coronavirus.

Gov. Baker stated this was intended to give the state government "more flexibility to respond to the developing outbreak."

Some parents have asked whether this declaration changes anything for our school district.  The Governor's declaration will not result in any immediate actions for our school district, and all Shrewsbury Public Schools will be open tomorrow.  Our leadership team will review the updated guidance that has been issued by the Governor and the state Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, and I will communicate any updates to our plan if and when those decisions are made.  For your reference, I am including the information that was sent last evening below and I encourage you to review it.

Respectfully,

Joe Sawyer

Superintendent of Schools
