Spring Street Link
June 1, 2020
A good sign...teachers and support staff are returning in scheduled shifts this week to pack up student belongings. Given social distancing guidelines and other stay-healthy suggestions, this is going to take a little bit of time. Beginning next Monday, June 8th families will be asked to pick up student belongings by signing up for a time to come to our school. Once at school, faculty and staff will gather your children’s belongings and hand them to you in your car. Please be wearing a mask and remain in your car through this process.
At the moment, our schedule for each day 9-12:00pm will be:
Monday Kindergarten
Tuesday Grade 1
Wednesday Grade 2
Thursday Grade 3
Friday Grade 4
A separate email with a link to sign up for a time will be coming to you later this week. If you have more than one child in more than one grade, please sign up for one grade only and put your other children’s names in the comment section. We will give you all of your children’s materials all at once.
Much appreciation in advance for your cooperation...and patience as we wade through uncharted waters.

2020 Virtual Art Show/Exhibit
On behalf of the Visual Arts Department, we welcome you to view our 2020 Virtual Art Show/Exhibit. Traditionally in May we host both a K-8 and 9-12 Art Exhibit. Although we could not hold it as planned this year, we bring you a sampling of artwork both while in school and through remote learning. The work showcases our students continued dedication, creativity and craftsmanship through the process. We want to thank our students for their engagement and know how much we miss seeing them each day. We hope you enjoy viewing the art. Have a wonderful summer – Keep creating, stay healthy and well! From Mrs. Braun-Lush and Ms. Richardson
Welcome to June! The warmer weather and sunshine have been a nice change and a reminder that summer is coming! It’s a nice time to sit and listen to the birds in the morning, watch the flowers grow and change and feel the warmer air. It’s also a great time to find joy, which is the monthly calendar for the Action for Happiness calendar this month.
You may remember last month, we mentioned the Action Happiness Calendar for May. The new calendar for June is titled: Joyful June (even in difficult times)- 2020. There are 30 actions to look after ourselves and each other as we face this unprecedented time together. The link to the calendar will be attached in case you would like to print it for your home. If that seems a bit overwhelming, here are the actions for the first week:
Monday:
Decide to look for what’s good, even on the difficult days
Tuesday:
Re-frame a worry and try to find a positive way to respond
Wednesday:
Think of 3 things you are grateful for and write them down
Thursday:
Show your appreciation to those who are helping others
Friday:
Smile and be friendly, even when you are social distancing
Saturday:
Notice the upsides during the lockdown, however small
Sunday:
Find a joyful way of being physically active (indoors or out)
