FINANCE & OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT

Shrewsbury Public Schools has partnered with ClearGov, a leading municipal transparency and benchmarking platform, to launch an infographic-based fiscal dashboard.  The new tool provides residents an easy-to-understand, interactive breakdown of the school's finances, as well as insights into demographics, student performance and more.

The Finance and Operations Department provides financial management for the School Department including all of its auxiliary programs and operations.  Specifically, in the financial area, we lead the efforts for:

  • development and management of the annual operating budget
  • grants and special revenue funds management
  • accounting functions and financial reporting
  • payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable
  • procurement
  • student activity accounts
     

With respect to operations, we lead efforts and oversee the following:  

  • school transportation services
  • food services
  • school security
  • enrollment forecasting and space planning 
  • facility use and rentals 
  • general supplies and mailroom services
  • public records requests
