Dear Shrewsbury Families,
I want you to know that this morning we were made aware of a social media post circulating in multiple states with a non-specific threat about a school shooting on today's date; no specific school or community was named. Some students and families saw this social media post this morning and were understandably concerned. The Shrewsbury Police have communicated to us that this originated in another state and that it is NOT a credible threat, and our schools are operating as usual today with all of the normal safety and security protocols that we always have in place, in partnership with our police.
I know that these kinds of non-specific threats can cause worry, and I appreciate that the Shrewsbury Police were able to communicate with us quickly that this was not a cause for concern, and that there is no reason to disrupt school here in Shrewsbury today. I wanted to share this information with you in case you or your student hears something about this, so that you have accurate information and reassurance.
