The bus that transports Al-Hamra Academy students was involved in an accident on Route 20 at the Avalon Apartments this morning.
In addition to public safety personnel, officials from Al-Hamra, Shrewsbury Public Schools, and AA Transportation have been on the scene. Passengers were evaluated by first responders, and the driver and 7 students have been transported to the hospital for further evaluation. There are no reports of any major injuries.
As a result of the traffic gridlock, Bus 10 for its middle school run, Bus 38 for Parker Road Preschool, and several Floral Street School bus runs have been or will be significantly delayed.
