Message from the Superintendent - October 13, 2020

Dear Shrewsbury Families, Colleagues, & Community Members,

I hope that everyone was able to relax a bit over the long weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage.

Please note the following two informational items:

1) As we continue our efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community, it is critical that we all continue to follow the public health measures of masking, distancing, hand washing/sanitizing, and staying home when not feeling well.  This also includes cooperating with Governor Baker's travel orders.  Please be reminded that anyone who has traveled to a state other than those deemed low risk may not enter school buildings unless they have proof of a negative test within the specified window of time or after they have quarantined.  See this link for details.

2) I have agreed to be interviewed this afternoon at 2:00pm on NBC 10 Boston on Facebook Live to discuss issues related to reopening schools during the pandemic.  I am hoping this will provide useful information to the public, and I wanted to make the Shrewsbury community aware as well.  The information from the station is below:

This Tuesday at 2pm, Shrewsbury School Supt. Dr. Joseph Sawyer  joins NBC 10 Boston’s Brian Shactman for a conversation about running a school system during a pandemic.  He will be taking viewer questions as well.

You can watch it all unfold on an NBC 10 Boston Facebook Livestream at the link below.

I hope everyone has a good week.

Respectfully,

Joe Sawyer
