Past SHS Varsity Golfers have been invited to contact former Coach Bob Cornacchioli and provide him with a current picture of choice, team information/dates and a brief current bio. I hope to organize this table by years at this time, past players will be posted in the order in which they arrive to Coach C.

John Heald
1989-1993

  • Currently VP of Business Development at Legacy.com, the largest online obit brand in the world
  • Partner at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors, the soon to be 5 year old new funeral home located in the center of Shrewsbury
  • Member at The Haven Country Club, formerly known as Mount Pleasant Country Club
  • Father of 2 grils who golf and love it, Emma and Ellie

Mr. Richard Pope

  • Still an avid golfer
  • Currently a General Music Teacher for Westfield, MA Public Schools.
  • Freelance trumpet player and lesson instructor

Mr. Shawn Walker

Shawn Walker
1998-2001

  • After HS, I continued my golf career at WPI where I was a two sport athlete (Golf, Baseball). 
  • I graduated in 2005 with an Engineering degree and today I work as a Director of Automotive Operations for a manufacturing company headquartered in MA. 
  • Married with one child
  • I still play a handful of times a year for charity events and occasionally for fun. 
  • I can still occasionally hit the 330yd drive, although not always as straight as back in the day.

  • Play Golf as much as possible, Recently drove 2 par 4's in one round (birdied both)!
  • Have recently purchased my wife a set of clubs to begin enjoying the game with me!

Mr. John Gaston

John Gaston
1985-1987

  • Married for 21 years and father of 3 beautiful children.
  • Shrewsbury resident (again) since 1996.
  • Founded Gastonart  & Frame, Inc. in 2004. I own and operate two custom picture framing stores in Shrewsbury and Northborough.
  • Graduate of Framingham State College with a Bachelor's of Fine Art and Art History.
  • Still very involved in ice hockey (my real sports love). Currently the President of Shrewsbury Youth Hockey and have been coaching for 7 years.
  • Playing golf in a weekly league with my brother. After being away from the game for many years, I have rediscoverd my love for this game. The skills are slowly coming back and I am enjoying it again.

Mr. Darren Ratcliffe

Darren Ratcliffe
1985-1989

  • Lives in Noblesville, Indiana...a suburb of Indianapolis.
  • Four kids with wife Rebecca...Lydia (15), Charlie 13), Audrey & Evelyn (10). 
  • President of a Harbour Properties, a real estate acquisition and management company. 
  • Member at Harbour Trees Golf and Beach Club...and get to play 20-25 rounds a year with a HDCP of typically 10-15, as of late.
  • Two state runner up finishes in '87 and '89.

Mr. Tim West

  • Graduated from Bentley University in 2009,
  • Moved to Manhattan to take advantage of all the city has to offer.
  • Currently work for Moda Operandi as the Director of Strategic Initiatives with the main goal of leading special projects across the company. It's been a fun two years here growing the company from scratch.
  • Playing a ton more golf around the NYC Metro area and consistently shooting between 78-82 (no better.. no worse). My main goal this summer is to play Bethpage Black and stay within double digits!

Mr. David Thompson

  • Currently a junior at Lehigh University majoring in Chemical Engineering and minoring in Economics
  • Still actively playing golf 2-3 times a week and playing to a 3 handicap
  • Spend much of my summers at my family's Cape house & golfing with friends
  • Part of the '09 State Championship team! 

Mr. Keith Briggs

1985-1989

  • After college, went on to work (part-time as my fun job) at Wayland Country Club and Wayland Golf Shops (no longer in business).  This job created the opportunity for me to meet lots of local celebrities. It also afforded me the opportunity to play some amazing golf courses in and around Boston.
  • Now living in the heart of golf in the US, as I live in Raleigh NC only a short drive to Pinehurst No. 2.
  • Most golf now comes in the form of work-relations.  This is either corporate events, vendor sponsored tournaments, or maintaining relationship with key partners.  Having golf as a "common interest" has created quite a few business opportunities.
  • Best thing about playing golf at SHS?  Giving me the chance to have a better game than all my friend now!  

Mr. Timothy Merrill

  • Started my career at Mount Pleasant Country Club. Then was head pro at Campbell's Scottish highlands for 2 seasons, Manchester country club for 2 seasons prior to Tedesco.
  • Gained class "a" membership to PGA in 2007.
  • Married for 6 yrs, 2 little girls, ages 4 and 1. Currently own a home in Tewksbury for last 3 yrs.
  • Love all things outside especially skiing! 

Mr. Joshua Grenier

  • After leaving SHS for VT and their brutally short golf season, I settled on the Connecticut shoreline with my wife and our twin 6 year old boys. 
  • When I'm not working or spending time with my family, I am trying to get as much golf in as possible.  My fire for the game still burns brightly. 
  • I currently play out of the Course at Yale but spend equal time at a muni track in Groton, CT - Shennecoset (D.Ross). 
  • In 1998, we finished 2nd in the state - 1 stroke behind Dennis Yarmouth. 

Mr. Scott Notargiacomo

Scott Notargiacomo
1981-1985

  • 4 year starter and captained the 1985 team to Midland League title. 
  • I joined Worcester CC 9 years ago and was recently elected to the club's Board of Governors.
  • I also sit on the board of NEADS, which is a non-profit service dog organization that trains dogs for disabled combat vets, deaf and disabled people and children with Autism.  I chair the NEADS golf committee and helped them organize their first few golf fundraisers two years ago.
  • I live in Grafton with my wife and two dogs and commute to Boston every day, which doesn't help my golf game, currently playing to a 7.5 index. I usually play once a week between Worcester CC and the many charity golf events I'm asked to support.

Mr. Paul Rezuke

Paul Rezuke
2008-2010

  • Shrewsbury High School Golf was the best team I have ever been apart of.
  • (2009) we won the State Championship. I have made friends or as we would say family on this team that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
  • I also have lost two of the most influential people that where on that championship team that year with me. Andy Reese and Coach Leo Murray. I miss them very much, but because of being on this team I was able to become family with them and have them shape my life.
  • Now, Class A PGA Professional and graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Business Management Degree and PGA Classification.
  • Work at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club, and am the Assistant Golf Professional at Course No. 6. Golf is my career, and I love being able to be apart of the PGA. When I'm not at the golf course I like to travel and enjoy all the simple things in life
