Children must be 5 years old by August 31, 2019 in order to enter Kindergarten in
the 2019-2020 school year.

Financial Aid Application and Free & Reduced Lunch Application

The Financial Aid Application (below) and the Free and Reduced Lunch application (available on our website) CANNOT be submitted before August 5, 2019 for the 2019-2020 school year.

Required Documents

  1. Student’s birth certificate with raised seal and valid passport if not a US birth certificate
  2. Legal document showing both child’s name and name(s) of parent(s) (if not on Birth Certificate)
  3. One of the following from the parent/legal guardian registering the child/children: Valid Driver’s License, Valid Photo ID Card, Valid Passport or other Valid Government Issued Photo ID
  4. Immunization Records & Copy of Last Physical
  5. Two forms of Residency (Gas/oil bill, electric bill, cable bill, water bill, real estate tax bill, signed * Purchase & Sales agreement or signed Lease. (All must be dated within the last 45 days) If new to town a newly signed P & S or Lease is all that will be required. Car excise tax bill is NOT accepted.
  6. IEP (Special Education Records) if applicable
  7. 504 Plan (if applicable)
  8. Custody papers showing you have physical custody (if applicable)
  9. Restraining order (if applicable)
  10. Letter from DCFS - for students in DCFS custody only

PowerSchool Parent Portal Accounts

Creating a PowerSchool Parent Portal Account: Letters with the Access ID & Access Password that you will need to create a PowerSchool Parent Portal account (or add a child to an existing account) will be mailed home in late March or early April 2019.

Bus Registration

Bus registration begins April 1, 2019 and closed June 30, 2019. Bus registration is done through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Any bus registrations after June 30, 2019 will be charged a late fee. Any new school registrations received after June 30, 2019, bus registration will be opened to you for 30 days from the date of registration before being charged a late fee.

Elementary School Assignments

Important notice: A new elementary school is being built with a scheduled opening for the 2021-2022 school year.  Existing elementary attendance zones will be revised to balance enrollment across all five elementary schools when the new school opens, and it is possible that your child’s elementary school assignment will change as a result.
