Events Update:

  • Spirit Wear Fundraiser
    • Currently underway – Order deadline is December 3rd
  • Book Fair
    • Just ended and was very successful (up $800 from last year)
  • Square One Art
    • Handed out this week and is underway
  • Winter Craft Night (Nov 30)
    • Looking for more volunteers
    • New- Hot Cocoa Bar and cookie decorating
  • Scrip – Will do a holiday order sheet in Monday folders (11/26/18)

 

 

Treasurer’s Report

  • See Appendix 1 for complete Treasurer’s Report
  • Tax Return was reviewed, approved and signed on 11/9/18.

 

 

 

 

 

Financial Goal Requests

  • Mrs. Luby and the 4th grade teachers
    • Requesting 52 keyboards for the iPads (14 for each 4th grade class) in order to make typing easier, especially for MCAS.  Cost is $1850.00.

  • Books of the Month
    • Books about character traits and social emotional skills (ex. The Giving Tree).
    • Request 7 books…9 copies of each book for $850.00

  • Michelle LeMay – School psychologist
    • Requesting social skills books for whole group lessons and social- emotional learning  for $200

Principal’s Corner

  • Putting together a committee for Family Cultural Night on Feb 28
    • Music, dancing, food, etc.
  • Kindergarten – Survey will come out in December for lottery in January.
  • December 4th is an upcoming half day Professional day
  • Spring Street School will take part in a Kindergarten research study run by Children’s Hospital and Harvard University.  They will develop an app to help detect dyslexia.  32 of our students qualified and 14 responded to participate.  The school will receive a gift of $250.
