Introduction to "scratch" programming

Sorry, class is full

The Shrewsbury High School Computer Club will be offering a free coding class to Sherwood Students via Zoom, starting in late January.

Meeting Time: Fridays, 3:15-4:00PM
Class Dates: 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/26, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19

Description: Programming is an important part of the way we live our lives in this digital world, so getting a headstart in a simple block coding language, Scratch, is an important step in a student's development in their coding careers. This class will give an introduction to Scratch, while having a lot of fun practicing, discussing, and finishing a final project towards the end of the class! Students will be taught by experienced (volunteer) programmers from SHS, as a part of the Computer Club. No prior coding is experience necessary.  All class projects can be completed on an iPad, but access to a desktop or laptop computer may be helpful.

Enrollment is limited to 50 students.  Each class will start as a full group, and then split into "breakout rooms," allowing a small group of students to work more closely with one of the SHS volunteers.
