Cradles to Crayons service project

Dear Families,

This week we celebrate our Project 351 Ambassador,  Alina Shkurikhina, and her amazing spring service project.  Every year, OMS nominates one student to represent the Town of Shrewsbury in the Commonwealth’s youth leadership and service program, Project 351.  Alina and her team organized a donation drive for Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization that provides children of Massachusetts and beyond “with the essentials they need to thrive.”   Under Alina’s leadership, the OMS community donated over 2700 items to children in need.

We are grateful to Alina and her team for their hard work and dedication to serving the children of Massachusetts as well as to our community for the outpouring of support for this cause.

Respectfully,
Ann M. Jones

Reminder: Monitoring iPad Use
Just a reminder to help us monitor your child’s iPad use.  Please make some time to examine your child’s iPad on a regular basis.  Although we utilize our management system to set limits  non-education games and apps, it’s always a good idea for you to do so as well. For grade 5-9 students, Internet access is filtered using Apple's built-in "Limit Adult Content" filters which applies to  access at school and at home.  However, this is not a fail safe.  We urge you to review this link which provides guidance on using at-home filtering and parental controls for your child’s device.  Please reach to us with your questions and concerns.
