Device Insurance & Liability Information

For Grade 5, 6, 7, High School, and Newly-Enrolled Students

Families will be responsible for any theft, loss, or damage that occurs to the devices regardless of whether it occurs at or outside of school, similar to the handling of textbooks. We have set up a streamlined enrollment and repair process with a private insurer, Worth Ave. Group. This is an established company that have been willing to work with the District regarding the repair process. If you elect to use another insurer, please be sure that the insurer will provide funds to reimburse the district for repair or replacement and not direct device repair or replacement. Devices not purchased directly by the district cannot be used in the program due to the need to "supervise" the devices for management.

For Grade 8 Students

Device liability policies depend upon whether a family has elected to continue in the legacy Personal Technology Fee program at the middle school level, or is taking part in the new district-owned and supplied device program.

Newly-enrolled families or families who have opted out of paying the legacy Personal Technology Fee will be responsible for any theft, loss, or damage that occurs to the devices regardless of whether it occurs at or outside of school, similar to the handling of textbooks.
