Every year, SHS hosts a representative from MEFA, the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority, for a presentation on financial aid options and resources for college-bound families. Unfortunately, due to COVID considerations, MEFA will not be offering in-person presentations. Instead, MEFA is offering a wealth of virtual opportunities for families. Please see links below:

  • List of Scholarships: local and national
  • Guaranteed Scholarships: On this site, you will find scholarships guaranteed by nearly 100 colleges to students who meet the individually listed criteria for each.
  • New England Student Regional Program (Tuition Break): Through the RSP Tuition Break, students are eligible to be charged a lower tuition rate when they are enrolled at an out-of-state public college and university within New England and pursue a degree program not offered by their home state public colleges and universities.
  • Office of Student Financial Assistance: An excellent resource for understanding financial aid terms, types financial aid and eligibility criteria, and much more. Offered by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. 
  • MassEdCo: Provider of community-based education and career readiness services for underrepresented middle/high school students and adults. Offering free financial aid help in the Worcester area and more.
  • Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority-Pathway for Students: Providing tools and support for students and parents looking for information about the college experience and how to pay for it.
