Time:  8:30-3:00 - half day options available
Extended Hours:  available 3:00-6:00PM for an additional fee
Cost Half-Day classes cost $75 per week.  Full-Day classes cost $150 per week.
Transportation not provided
Lunch: Students staying for a full day must provide a lunch from home.  There will be a supervised lunch period from 11:30-12:00.  Staff will assist students to their afternoon class.

Course Name: Cool Math

Description: "Mistakes are proof that you are trying." This class is full of hands-on activities to make math fun!  We'll be doing math tricks, fun math problems, cool calculations, and solving magic number puzzles. We will also learn the fascinating story how the numbers were discovered, and how the system of counting was invented. "You never fail until you stop trying."

Description: What is the Engineer Design Process? Students will examine everyday examples of technology and discuss how these objects were designed to solve problems. They will have the opportunity to read a story about a problem in a community and then go through the engineering design process to see how engineers solve problems by designing solutions. Everyday objects will be explored to have students be able to think like a mechanical engineer as to how and/or why an object was created. Utilizing the story theme, students will create different projects to go through the steps of the Engineer Design Process.

Course Name: Intro to Robotics Programming

Description: Students will learn programming in a fun and interactive way using robots! Through the Wonder Workshop program, kids will learn how to code, igniting curiosity and confidence through play while learning essential 21st century skills. This hands-on class will engage students to work collaboratively to learn how to program robots through various lessons and activities. Kids will learn about robotics and develop fundamental coding and problem-solving skills, exploring the possibilities programming creates.

Description: Do you love math and science? Join me in this new and exciting STEM class. Each week students will be assigned a task where they will need to use a variety of random materials to create a simple machine. Some of these tasks include: designing a gum ball machine that sorts gum balls by size and creating a sling shot that launches a bouncy ball the furthest distance.

Description: Throw on your lab coat, grab your note pad and experiment with us! In this class, we will explore the interesting world of science, perform experiments and see whether or not they work as predicted.

Description: Create beautiful works of art with MATH!  Learn more about Tessellations, and Fibonacci spirals; plot images on a graph to create works of art; write your name with slope and perspective; and other math art projects.

Course Name: Mindful Math

Description: Learn strategies to change a fixed math mindset to a growth mindset in this Mindful Math class. Fun math stations will include math with a partner(s), math with the teacher, and individual math. We will tackle a fun team math challenge each day! Come settle in and let's grow our brains together as we work through Ipad math apps (xtra math, ten marks, etc.), word problems, multiplication, division, bar models, math games, math fact relays, fraction practice and more! Instead of "this is too hard" think "this may take some time and effort!" Change "I can't make this any better" to "I'll us some of the math strategies I have learned!"

Course Name: Peace Out: Exploring the Mind-Body Connection

Description: Explore the calming, healing, and energizing effects of mind-body practices. In this class, we will practice and investigate age-old traditions, such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and qigong, and their many benefits on the mind, the body (including the brain), and overall wellbeing. We’ll learn fun, hands-on techniques for enhancing focus, inner balance, and body awareness, through mindfulness-based relaxation practices, meditative art, movement and breathing exercises, and more.

Course Name: Science Warriors

Description: Explore the properties of solids, liquids and gases! Each state of matter will be discovered through fun experiments and hands on learning.  Students will use recyclable objects to create multiple experiments each day. On the last day, the students will use recyclable to make common household items.

Description: This class will help kids recognize when their bodies need a break. We will learn fun new ways and to calm down and achieve relaxation. We will make helpful tools each day that students can bring home and use.

Description: Students will use science to create their own sensory tools to take home! Sensory tools are a way to help students when they are feeling frustrated, bored, overwhelmed or restless. We will be using science techniques to create different sensory items such as sensory bottles, stress balls, and an array of other activities

Description: If healthy foods have a little bit of novelty to it, kids are way more likely to actually eat it. Join in on the fun being creative with healthy fruits and veggies. We will be exploring so many ways of making snacks fun through edible art projects and even science projects. Students will unleash their creativity as they experiment with amazing food art ideas.

Course Name: Snowy Day Animation

Description: Students will read Ezra Jack Keats’ classic Snowy Day before creating their own snowy day stop motion animation. After exploring Keats’ collage illustration style and some of the science behind snowy days, students will write, illustrate through collage, and animate their own snowy day adventures.

Course Name: The Great Paper Roller Coaster Challenge

Description: The local amusement park has issued a challenge to roller coaster designers to determine who should build their next roller coaster. You’ll need to prove that you can make an exciting roller coaster that meets their requirements, using as little money as possible.

Description: Students will explore the different body systems of the human body and learn how to better preserve and take care of their own young/growing bodies. Description: This workshop is designed to empower and prepare students for auditions in school plays and the ability to stand up and present in front of their peers. Students will be given monologues for which they will create characters, learn basic acting, engage in physical and vocal warmups, learn theater terms and more! Students will perform on the last day of class.

Description: From Jazz Hands to the crowd-pleasing Kick Line, if you have ever wanted to learn how to dance like a Broadway Star this is a great place to start! We will cover all the beginner moves, while breaking a sweat, watching videos of professional actors and having lots of fun! By the end of the week, you could be on your way to Broadway!

Course Name: Chess with No Stress

Description: This class will focus on unfolding the game of chess in small, fun-filled mini chess games. The students will learn about chess vocabulary, solid fundamentals, notations, piece values, rules, and proper strategies.  We will solve fun puzzles and focus on good sportsmanship in fun and safe environment.

Description: We will read the autobiography “I am Malala” discovering what this teenager living in Pakistan under Taliban rule went through as the result of her speaking out for the education of girls & find out how she became the recipient of a Nobel Peace Prize. Discussions about the book will work on skills like world history, geography, predictions, compare & contrast, using context clues to find the meanings of words, identifying problems & solutions, making inferences, as well as talking about our own passions in life & who inspires us.

Description: Get excited about learning new cookie decorating skills! Join this class and turn homemade sugar cookies into an edible work of art. Description: We will play games and do activities that will help kids master and/or solidify the basic math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Mastering the basic facts is so important in creating a foundation or "tool kit" for kids to use when doing more challenging problems. When they "own" their facts, it frees up their minds to focus on the bigger problem. This class will help kids who are struggling with their facts to become more confident.

Description: Get ready for some fun winter STEM activities! There will be challenges each day incorporating teamwork, critical thinking and trial and error. We will build igloos to withstand a "snowball" war, explore chemical reactions with snow, the science behind snowflakes, how Arctic animals stay warm and many other exciting hands on experiments.

$75 for all four days (Sorry, a daily rate is not available.)
Students will have a variety of activities to choose from, including board games, craft projects, gym games, outside play (weather permitting) and other special projects.  We will provide a snack and drink.  The program will use different spaces in the building for students in grades K-4 and students in grades 5-8 in order to provide the safest and most appropriate activities.
